Law of Contract - discharge of a contract

Discharge of a Contract

  • A contract is said to be discharged when it is terminated and the contracting parties are free from further obligations arising from it . 
  • A contract may be discharged by any one of the following ways ( as shown on the flow chart below ) : 
  • (i) Discharge by performance 
  • (ii) Discharge by agreement 
  • (iii) Discharge by frustration 
  • (iv) Discharge by breach
