Indirect pumping from the main

• The high-rise building will be divided into two zones : lower zone and upper zone ,each zone will be equipped with storage cistern . 
• The lower zone position must be determined based on head pressure reading from the main , so that water sypply from the main can reach to the storage cistern without the aid of boaster pump . 
• The upper zone position where head pressure of the main is not enough , a pumping system is installed so that water can reach the storage cistern on the upper zone . 
• A break cistern ( suction tank ) is installed between the supply main and the pumping unit to serve as pumping reservoir and prevent lowering the pressure on the supply main . 
• This system is widely used in high - rise buildings of Malaysia .
