Classical Approach - One best way to do things  - Emphasis on structure , hierarchy , and org , purpose.  - Leadership( task orientated )  - Common principles of organisation - Bureaucratic- rigid , inflexible rules . - Scientific management - Taylorism  - Administrative management - Fayol's 14 principles 

Human Relation Approach - Worker attitude- the most important  - Emphasis on behaviour of people - Leadership- People orientated  , Human factors on worker productivity - Hawthrone Studies  -  DOuglass McGregor Theory X and Y  - Abraham - Hierarchy of Needs  

System Approach - Everthing is interelated . - Integration of classical and human relation approaches - Org. Within its external environment . - Interacting sub-system to enable inputs to be converted to outputs . - Close system - do not interact with environment , self supporting . 

Contigency Approach  - No one best design of organisation  - Every decisions made are depend on situational variables .  - No universal management principles  - - Different ways of managing  - Many environmental factors - Technology Strategy / People / Org. structure / External Environment / Management
