- CO2 is discharged after a delay upon detection ( An alarm will be sounded before CO2 being discharged .

- - electrical transformer room
- -LV switchrooms
- -Standby generators room
- -All unoccupied rooms that needed fire protection ( where use of water as the extinguishing agent is not permissible ex CLass E risk areas )
- Good for flammable liquids , gas fires , fires involving electrically energised equipment and sometimes on carbonaceous material .
- CO2 is non combustible and spreads rapidly to all parts of the fire .
- Cannot conduct electricity this making it safe to use in areas having electrically energized equipment
- It leaves no residue .
- Although mildly toxic , a 9 percent concentration is the limit that anyone can withstand without being unconscious and a higher limit will render a person helpless almost immediately .
- Puts fire out by the smothering and cooling effects .
