Insect attack : Treatment

• Provide a continuous insecticide barrier between termite colony ( usually in the ground ) and the wood in building 
• The pest control Association of Malaysia provides the Malaysian Anti - termite treatment guidelines . 
• Pre-construction and Post - construction . 
• Pre-construction - druing construction 

- horizontal barriers such as treating footing trench with insecticide before pouring concrete footings
-Apply diluted insecticide before pouring slab floors , slab supported porches , patio etc .
-Vertical barriers - establish chemical barriers in areas such as bases of foundation , plumbling , etc .

• Post construction - in existing buildings . 

- Spraying organic preservatives directly to timbers with several coats .
( Drilled holes through concrete slab and apply diluted termiticide , seal up the holes ) .
