Water based Portable Fire Extinguishers

• It is a first-aid fire fighting appliance which can be carried by hand and from which the extinguishment agent can be expelled , usually under pressure . 
• THey are extremely valuable for extinguishing fires at the early stages , but they cannot be used succesfully to deal with large fires . 
• Water is used on Class A fires which involve fires in solid combustible materials such as wood , paper and textile fabrics . 
• It has better cooling properties than other extinguishing agents . 
• However , water is a conductor of electricity and must not be used on live electrical equipment .
