- Hose reels are firefighting equipment for use as a first-aid measure by building occupants .
- They should be located where users are least likely to be endangered by the fire i.e. staircase landing .
- Fixed or swinging hose reels are located in wall recesses at a height of about 1m above floor level .
- They are supplied by a 25mm id pipe to 20 or 25mm id reinforced non-kink rubber hose in lengths up to 45m to cover 800m square of floor area per installation .
- Requirements as per UBBL 1984 ( 10th schedule ) .
